Unconscious habits such as pulling the head back and down into the neck when talking, tightening the neck and shoulder muscles while sitting at the computer, breathing with shallow breaths while concentrating on some task, all lead to pain and affect the function of the body in profoundly negative ways.

Linda Carmichael has been teaching Alexander Technique for over twenty years. In the introductory session, apart from enjoying Linda’s subtle touch and the tension release and sense of lightness that occurs, we will explore the possibility of learning to become aware of the holding patterns and tensions before they cause problems. Learn how to ‘direct’ your muscles to release tension, breath more deeply and use the body as a vehicle for bringing your awareness into the present.
